Army Man - Rifleman

Post by Javier Odom »

The efforts towards scanning the Rifleman are a little more challenging.

You can see there are gaps in the Soldier's face and the business end of his rifle. This is after over 125 scans. I will try it again later. I will get him closer to the scanning plate, and I will move him so he is more centered on the plate from the top down.

The above is a screenshot from within Jewel3D, after the scans, while it is processing.

Below is a screenshot of the almost finished scan. I would still need to go in and fill holes, of which there will be a lot of them in this file, and fix the shell so to speak. I would also need to trim any loose objects that are not touching anything else. If I wanted to complete this scan, I would perhaps try to scan it upside down, and/or sideways to get the bottom of the Rifleman's ground stand, and hopefully to capture his face, rifle muzzle, and any other gaps.

I will try this guy again.

This is a second attempt at this scan. As this one scan took me two hours to do, I did not spend the extra time cleaning up the STL file. This is true of the bazooka scan I also posted here.

Take care, and God bless.
