When I search for, "solidworks for jewelry design" there are some results which make believe the answer is, yes.
If you can use SolidWorks to design your jewelry, I am not sure what other software could beat it, considering SW is so powerful. This is why I enjoy FreeCAD so much, because it is so powerful and the price is great. SW has a lot of enterprise power as well if you have multiple designers. Also like FreeCAD, the initial designing of findings and gemstones would be your biggest hurdle. Not a daunting hurdle if you approach it correctly.
If you decide to try out SW for jewelry design, I would be very interested in your thoughts on it.
